Andi Durrant
Director & Co-Founder

Andi Durrant is one of Europe’s most respected champions of electronic music and is also an executive board member for the Association For Electronic Music (AFEM) representing the media sector for global electronic music. A man who’s interviewed everyone from Daft Punk, Example, The Prodigy, Pendulum, Pet Shop Boys, Calvin Harris and Nicky Romero to Faithless, Avicii, David Guetta, Richie Hawtin, Chase & Status Fatboy Slim, Loco Dice, Porter Robinson, Above & Beyond and many more.

A multi-award winning presenter, Andi was the youngest ever winner of the Sony Radio Academy Gold award, being named the UK’s Best Music Broadcaster in 2008. Since then he’s gone on to win 2 further Sony’s and been nominated for best specialist music program 3 times at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards. He’s presented market-leading national radio shows for both Kiss FM and Capital FM, and through his new global programme “The Electrik Playground” he now broadcasts across 27 countries each week to audiences of many millions.

Andi has also been an incredibly prolific music producer with over 130 releases to his name. He’s worked on tracks for artists such as Flo Rider, Will I Am, Plan B, Sinead O’Connor, Avril Lavigne, Far East Movement, Armin Van Buuren, Alex Metric, Jacques Lu Cont, hit number 1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart and had a hand in 6 UK top 5 chart singles. He’s was a resident DJ at the legendary Gatecrasher in Sheffield, has played virtually all of the worlds biggest festivals and most famous venues, and spent 2 years warming up for Tiesto at Privilege Ibiza (The worlds biggest club).

Taking 16 years of experience at the top end of radio and electronic music, Andi set up Distorted with his long-time collaborator Nick Riley, producing international radio shows and top-rated podcasts for music artists, presenters and brands.
Nick Riley
Director & Co-Founder

Nick Riley has a wealth of experience, expertise and contacts within the field of electronic music and radio.

Throughout his time at Sheffield University, Nick ran some of the cities busiest and most popular student events and clubs nights, bringing some of the biggest DJs and dance music names to infamous venues like The Republic and Bed.

He was soon approached by Gatecrasher to take on the role of international resident and went on to fly the flag for the British super-club across every continent – rocking clubs and festivals in Siberia, Finland, Japan, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Moscow, Miami and many more. As a resident at Privilege Ibiza (the worlds biggest club) he played to over 100,000 people as Tiesto’s support act and is one of only a handful of acts to be asked to play both the Terrace and main room at the legendary Amnesia for Cream and played the iconic Space Terrace for Roger Sanchez.

As one half of Riley & Durrant he’s worked on music for a massive amount of independent and major labels, and remixed the likes Laidback Luke, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, Chicane, Robbie Rivera, Snow Patrol, K Klass, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and many more.

Nick spent 10 years as both a producer and presenter for award-winning radio programs on Capital FM and the Galaxy FM network before co-founding This Is Distorted and managing the radio careers of some of the worlds biggest electronic artists.

Roger Cutsforth
Commercial Director

Roger joined Distorted from Global Media and Entertainment where he was Managing Director of Capital FM Yorkshire. Prior to that he owned his own independent audio production company and specialist music radio station.

Roger is an accomplished Managing Director with extensive commercial and sales management experience. He has a proven track record of delivering exceptional revenue growth within multi-million pound businesses, leading change management and business transformation. He establishes high performance creative environments within which individuals and teams thrive.

As Commercial Director at Distorted, Roger focusses on putting brands with exceptional content, and the sponsorship and monetisation of our portfolio of programmes.

Alongside his work at Distorted, Roger is also the Managing Director of The Radio Academy.

Alex Jungius
Strategic Director

Alex Jungius has spent the last 15 years working at the top level of some of the biggest commercial radio stations in the UK. He started his radio career in Brighton working across the station sound for Southern FM before moving north to Galaxy.

At Galaxy, he launched the countries first network evening show producing Dave Kelly across 4 Galaxy stations in the north of England. He then moved into Station Sound and before long was heading up the Imaging for the legendary Galaxy Network, winning a few Radio Academy awards a long the way and integrating Choice London into the fold in 2009. Previous to joining Distorted, his last role in radio was as Deputy Group Programme Director for the Capital Network running the 8 Capital radio stations across the UK hitting audiences of over 7 million per week.

He has created and produced major shows, managed big personalities and won Radio Academy, Arqiva, and New York Festival awards, even being nominated for a BAFTA for his work in television and film. In a former life he also worked with Ant and Dec on ‘Friends Like These’ helping to produce the first ever series.

Oliver Portamento

Oli is an incredibly talented and creative producer who works on some of the biggest Distorted shows.

As one half of The Squatters he’s recognised equally for his rolling basslines as much as he is for his distinctive Northern humour and penchant for poppadoms. Now signed to Australia’s Vicious Bitch imprint and with prior releases on Get Twisted, Southern Fried Records and Champion Records, the inimitable duo can count enviable support from some serious industry heavyweights including AC Slater, Tough Love, Kissy Sell Out, Danny Howard, Don Diablo, Low Steppa and The Bloody beetroots, as well as airtime on BBC Radio 1, Capital FM and Kiss. Remixing for the likes of Eddie Amador and Vanilla Ace, a Route 94 bootleg championed by DJ Mag, and a fledgling imprint of their own in the shape of What’s Your Status, it’s easy to see how the pair now have all bases covered on the production and release front.

Taking his background and skills in producing music, Oli uses his extensive talents in the studio to put together some of our most popular electronic music programmes.
Suzanne Chesterton

Suzanne is a Sony Radio Academy award-winning journalist and producer with over 18 years experience in the radio industry. Over the past two decades she has worked for countless BBC and commercial radio stations producing outstanding content for LBC, Heart, Capital, 5Live and many more.

She’s also worked as an investigative journalist for the UK’s national press with stories regularly featured in The Express, The Daily Mail, The Sunday People, The Mirror and The Sun newspapers.

In 2014, she left her roles at both Capital FM and as Senior Lecturer in Music and Promotion for the University of Huddersfield to join Distorted. Suzanne is one of our most talented producers, working on shows for global artists such as Paul Van Dyk.

James Medina

A lifelong dance music fan and DJ from a very young age, James has a number of years experience in various areas of the Music Industry. After graduating from University, he began working under the HeavyFeet moniker, and has releases through prestigious record labels like Black Butter, Champion Records and 3 Beat, remixed for the likes of DJ Zinc, Roisin Murphy, and countless others, and toured the world extensively as a DJ.

In 2010 he diversified in to radio, presenting, producing, driving and scripting shows on Unity Radio – a Manchester-based, youth-focused, urban dance station – something that continues to this day. In addition, James has overseen the mentoring and coaching of volunteers to produce shows, and completed various presenting and production courses.

He now finds himself as head of Night Shift Sound, a new record label with a focus on heavyweight house music, as well as producing under two new aliases (Arcane Youth and MetroClub), and presenting a specialist radio show on another Manchester-based station, Reform Radio.

James is one of electronic music specialists working on some high profile shows and providing his exemplary script writing skills on some of our biggest programmes.
James Whitehead
Syndication Manager

James has had a lifelong obsession with music, from playing the Guitar, to falling in love with house music in his teens. James has already had huge experience on the DJ/producing scene. Having released music under numerous aliases, on labels across the board; Perfecto records, Cheap Thrills, Simma & Be Rich Records to name a few. And has even done an official remix for 2 time DJMag number 1 DJ, Paul Oakenfold & house music royalty Ce Ce Peniston.

As well as his own music, he has engineered music for a wide range of styles and has played numerous events. He brings this wide skill set to Distorted, along with his degree in International Business.

Ryan Winders

Ryan worked for community station Gaydio for over 4 years as a producer on a variety of projects including: podcasts, features, music mixing, documentaries, advertising, as well as live production for their breakfast show with Chris & Emma. Ryan gained a first class degree in TV and Radio at Salford University, and has worked with well respected radio professionals, and on occasion celebrities. During this time he also worked for their student station Shock Radio for 3 years, as a presenter for a specialist dance show; later becoming Head of Production. Ryan also completed a range of radio based placements, including an internship for radio imaging company Reel World Radio.

With a thorough knowledge of the dance scene, and a passion for mixing music, Ryan has worked his way up to producing mixes for national radio, and spends most of his spare time geeking out using industry standard digital audio workstations such as Ableton, Adobe Audition, and Protools.
