James Medina

A lifelong dance music fan and DJ from a very young age, James has a number of years experience in various areas of the Music Industry. After graduating from University, he began working under the HeavyFeet moniker, and has releases through prestigious record labels like Black Butter, Champion Records and 3 Beat, remixed for the likes of DJ Zinc, Roisin Murphy, and countless others, and toured the world extensively as a DJ.

In 2010 he diversified in to radio, presenting, producing, driving and scripting shows on Unity Radio – a Manchester-based, youth-focused, urban dance station – something that continues to this day. In addition, James has overseen the mentoring and coaching of volunteers to produce shows, and completed various presenting and production courses.

He now finds himself as head of Night Shift Sound, a new record label with a focus on heavyweight house music, as well as producing under two new aliases (Arcane Youth and MetroClub), and presenting a specialist radio show on another Manchester-based station, Reform Radio.

James is one of electronic music specialists working on some high profile shows and providing his exemplary script writing skills on some of our biggest programmes.
